Abol Atighetchi (born 1948) studied Fine Arts at Mid-West City College, USA and Solihull College, UK. He is a member of “Maison des Artistes” France as well as “Iranian Artist Forum” in Iran since 1979. He took up Calligraphy in 1996 after returning to Iran and studying closely the sacred art of Calligraphy. He undertakes large format works of art, Particularly in Thuluth, Kufic, Nakhsh and lately Nastaligh for his modern contemporary mystic calligraphy works. Being a huge admirer of Rumi, the great Persian Sufi and Poet, he has dedicated a lot of his work to his poems.
